Ariana Grande speaks out after being ‘attacked’ by fan in Singapore
Ariana Grande is reaching out to her Singaporean fans after a scary moment at the Wicked: For Good premiere.
The Oscar-nominated actress was attacked by a fan while walking the yellow brick road carpet at Universal Studios Singapore on Thursday, November 13.
The incident occurred as Ariana greeted fans alongside costars Michelle Yeoh, Cynthia Erivo, and Jeff Goldblum. Out of nowhere, a man in a white shirt and shorts jumped the ropes and sprinted toward her, putting his arm around the Grammy-winning singer as if to hug or grab her.
The man identifies as Johnson Wen, a red carpet crasher who goes by “Pyjama Man” on social media.” Wen uploaded a video of the incident to his Instagram, writing, “Dear Ariana Grande Thank you for letting me Jump on the Yellow Carpet with You [heart emoji].”
More fan videos circulating online showed Ariana looking startled as security rushed to intervene. Cynthia quickly stepped in, placing herself between Ariana and the man, telling him to “get off her” multiple times before guards eventually escorted him away.
Despite the frightening encounter, Ariana later addressed fans on Instagram, sharing photos from the event with a brief but heartfelt caption: “Hello & i love you Singapore.”
Eyewitnesses said the we can’t be friends hitmaker appeared visibly shaken but was comforted by her co-stars before resuming the evening’s events. A concerned fan wrote in Pyjama Man’s comment section, “You literally assaulted her. this isn’t a flex, it’s a crime. shame on you!”
The highly anticipated Wicked: For Good is set to hit theatres on November 21, 2025.
