Another young couple killed in Balochistan in the name of ‘Honor’ (Ghairat)
Quetta, July 23, 2025 — In yet another heartbreaking case of honor killing in Balochistan, a young girl and her male relative were shot and killed near Quetta’s Qambrani Road.
According to police, the girl’s father allegedly committed the murders, taking the lives of his own daughter and nephew, both reportedly between 18 and 20 years old. Authorities believe the crime was driven by so-called “honor” motives.
The suspect fled the scene immediately after the incident. Police teams have launched a search operation and are conducting raids in an attempt to arrest him.
The bodies of the victims have been moved to a local hospital for legal procedures and post-mortem examinations.
Honor killings remain a persistent and deeply troubling issue in parts of Pakistan, despite being criminalized. Human rights activists continue to call for stronger enforcement of laws and cultural shifts to end these acts of violence.
