Akon arrested following roadside incident: What are the charges?

Akon had a run in with the law last week.
On November 6, the singer was arrested and booked in DeKalb County, Georgia, Page Six reported on November 12. He was released just six hours later.
According to the outlet, the arrest stemmed from an out-of-county warrant issued in Roswell, Georgia, over a suspended license.
The situation reportedly began on September 10, when the 52-year-old caught the eye of a police officer while stranded at the side of the road after his Tesla ran out of battery. While Akon was waiting for a tow truck, the officer ran the Grammy-nominee’s information and discovered his license had been suspended after he failed to appear in court for a January 2023 hearing.
Akon, born Aliaune Thiam, was then issued a citation.
His mugshot, which shows him wearing a black hoodie, has since been released.
The Grammy-nominated artist is best known for early 2000s hits like Smack That and Lonely, but lately, his personal life has also made headlines.
In September, Akon’s wife, Tomeka Thiam, filed for divorce after 28 years of marriage, seeking joint legal and sole physical custody of their 17-year-old daughter, Journey.
