Karachi: Pakistani actress, social media influencer, voice-over artist, and choreographer Reham Rafiq has once again found herself at the center of criticism following her latest viral video.
While Rafiq began her career through an Instagram page, she later transitioned into Pakistani dramas, making her acting debut in Nabeel Qureshi’s 2021 film ‘Khel Khel Mein’. She has since appeared in various dramas like ‘Jhoom’, ‘Kafara’, and ‘Jorawan’, and is currently gaining praise for her role as Amal in the drama series ‘Parvarish’.
Beyond acting, Reham Rafiq is an active digital creator known for making trending TikTok videos. However, her recent foray into dancing to the Bollywood song ‘Barso Re’ on both Instagram and TikTok has drawn significant backlash.
Dressed in a black shirt and trousers with a locket chain, Rafiq’s dance moves were described as energetic, but it was her unusual facial expressions that reportedly left viewers stunned and unimpressed.
Fans did not appreciate her “bizarre” facial expressions accompanying the iconic song, leading to a strong negative reaction across social media once the video went viral. One user commented, “If you’re dancing, then dance; what’s the need for these kinds of absurd faces?”
Another wrote, “We can tolerate everything, but her facial expressions are beyond tolerance.” A third user questioned, “Why does she make such strange faces while dancing? This song required soft expressions.”
Some fans went as far as to write, “First, their own family members don’t let them enter showbiz, but then when they agree, they support them so much that society has to step in to stop it.”
Reham Rafiq is the younger sister of famous Pakistani singer Nimra Rafiq and got married to Shakeeb Khan in a private family ceremony a few months ago.
