Tajik social media sensation Abdu Rozik Detained at Dubai Airport
Dubai: Tajik singer and social media sensation Abdu Rozik was reportedly detained at Dubai International Airport early Saturday morning, according to his management. The news was confirmed to Khaleej Times, though official authorities have yet to release a statement.
Rozik, 21, was taken into custody around 5 a.m. after arriving from Montenegro. While the specific reasons for his detention remain undisclosed, a representative from his team indicated that the arrest is related to “allegations of theft,” but declined to provide further details.
Known for his diminutive stature of just over three feet due to a growth hormone deficiency, Rozik has gained immense popularity across the Middle East and beyond. Residing in Dubai with a UAE Golden Visa, he rose to fame through his music, viral videos, and appearances on reality TV, notably Bigg Boss 16.
In recent years, Rozik expanded his career into boxing, making his debut at Dubai’s Coca-Cola Arena in 2024. Additionally, he launched his restaurant chain, Habibi, in the UK.
He has also been under scrutiny by Indian authorities; in 2024, he was questioned by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with a money laundering investigation related to a hospitality firm, although he was not named as a suspect.
