The character Egg, whose real name is Aegon Targaryen, is a central figure in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. The series is based on George R. R. Martin’s Dunk and Egg stories and follows the adventures of Ser Duncan the Tall and his young companion Egg across the Seven Kingdoms.
Ansell’s participation in World Book Day drew attention from fans of the show, with many noting that the actor appeared enthusiastic about portraying the character both on screen and away from the set.
The 11-year-old actor previously celebrated his casting in the series in a playful way, marking the occasion by eating scrambled eggs. His performance as Egg has received positive reactions from viewers and from Martin himself.
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms has already completed its first season, and production on a second season is under way. Filming reportedly began in December, suggesting the series is moving quickly into its next stage.
Although production schedules for the new season have not been fully detailed, the show’s early renewal indicates continued confidence in the adaptation of Martin’s fantasy stories. As filming continues, Ansell’s appearance at school in costume offered a light-hearted reminder of the role that has introduced him to television audiences.
