

LAHORE: The Lahore Race Club is set to stage the 8th Day Summer Meeting 2025 on Sunday evening, offering a competitive card featuring five Quetta Plates.
All races fall under Class VII, but are separated into various divisions to ensure balanced and thrilling competition for equine sports enthusiasts. Thunder Cloud, Daddy Cool, Absolutely Not are among the favourites for Sunday’s card.
The first four races will be run over a distance of 1,000 metres, while the final event will test the contenders over an extended 1,100 metres, adding an element of endurance to conclude the day’s proceedings.
The opening (Class VII – Division VI & VII) race has drawn 11 runners, led by Thunder Cloud (KRC) as the bookmakers’ favourite. I Shall Lead is tipped for a place, while Shahan Shah is considered a fluke chance. The rest of the field includes Drago, Smart Fighter, Raftar, Good Boy, Thunder Prince (KRC), Thunder Lady, Dubai Love, and Gifts of Gold.
Seven horses will face the starter in the second (Class VII – Division V & VI) event, with Daddy Cool emerging as the favourite. Thunder Man (KRC) is expected to place, while Zaman Sahib is being backed as a fluke. Other runners include Latin Storm, Rashid Prince, Malik Choice, and Leo Star.
Among the seven entries in the third (Class VII – Division IV) race, Absolutely Not stands out as the favourite, followed by Generosity in the place category, and Gabriela rated as a fluke. Completing the line-up are Taj Mahal, Yes Commander, Gondal One, and Macs.
A small but competitive field of six will contest the fourth (Class VII – Division III) race, with Little Master holding favourite status. Luckvir is fancied for a place, while Dubawi’s Angel carries an outside fluke chance. Other participants include New York City, Haseeb Thunder, and Black Fire.
The day’s final and longest (Class VII – Division I & II) race features six contenders. Brigadier is widely regarded as the favourite.
