Record-high heat expected in Southern California’s Inland Empire

Southern California: Heat Advisory has been issued for all cities in the Inland Empire and the entire high desert region, effective Thursday, March 12, 2026, at 10:00 AM through Friday, 8:00 PM. Temperatures are expected to reach 93–98°F during this period.

Forecasters warn that the hot conditions may lead to heat-related illnesses, with very warm temperatures continuing into the weekend and early next week. There is a possibility of a shift back to cooler, rainy weather toward the end of the month.

Heat Safety Tips:

Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of water. Avoid soda, energy drinks, and alcohol, which can dehydrate your body.

Limit outdoor exercise: Avoid physical activity during peak heat hours. Exercise early in the morning when temperatures are cooler.

Wear appropriate clothing: Choose lightweight, light-colored natural fabrics like cotton and linen to help your body stay cool.

Reduce appliance use: Turn off large appliances to prevent power outages and brown-outs.

Protect pets: Ensure animals have access to shade and plenty of water.

Residents are urged to take precautions and monitor local weather updates to stay safe during the advisory period.
