Beijing: China has strongly opposed the recent US and Israeli airstrikes on Iran, urging that the attacks be immediately stopped.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi stated that the conflict should never have occurred, emphasizing that the use of force is not a solution. He added that plans to change the Iranian government lack legitimacy and public support.
China stressed the importance of respecting the sovereignty and security of Iran and other Gulf nations. The country called for efforts to prevent the escalation of the conflict and urged major powers to play a constructive role in de-escalation.
Earlier, Russia had also condemned the US and Israeli strikes on Iran, calling for the attacks to be halted immediately.
