GWADAR: Six members of a single family were killed and three others injured when unidentified armed men opened fire and attacked with a mortar at a house in the Minaz locality of Kech district’s Buleda tehsil, police officials said.
According to police sources, the assailants opened indiscriminate gunfire alongside firing a mortar strike, killing six, including at least three children.
The injured were immediately shifted to a hospital, with some reported to be in critical condition.
Following the incident, security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to trace the attackers.
Police sources said an investigation was under way and the matter was being probed from multiple angles.
On February 16, unidentified armed men shot dead a man from Faisalabad in the Pishukan area of Gwadar.
In November last year, three bullet-riddled bodies, including that of a newly married man, were found in Gwadar’s Tump tehsil. Police said the victim had been kidnapped by unknown armed men and killed after refusing to pay a ransom.
