The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has announced an increase in the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), adding to the financial burden on households.
According to a notification issued by OGRA, the price of LPG has been increased by Rs6.37 per kilogram.
As a result of this hike, the price of a standard domestic LPG cylinder has gone up by Rs75.21. The authority stated that the revised prices are effective from February 1.
LPG is widely used across the country for cooking, especially in areas where natural gas supply is limited or unavailable. Any increase in its price directly affects household budgets, particularly for low- and middle-income families who rely on LPG as a primary source of fuel.
OGRA periodically reviews fuel prices based on international market trends and other cost factors. The latest adjustment reflects these changes, and consumers will now have to pay higher prices for LPG cylinders from the start of the new month.
