Travis Scott has been revealed as part of the cast of The Odyssey following his appearance in a newly aired teaser for the forthcoming film.
The 34-year-old Grammy-nominated rapper features in a television spot that debuted on Sunday, during the AFC Championship game. His involvement in the project had not been announced prior to the teaser’s broadcast, making the appearance a surprise for viewers.
In the clip, Scott narrates scenes depicting the Trojan War, saying, “A war, a man, a trick — a trick to break the walls of Troy. It burning, screaming to the ground.” The teaser also includes appearances by Matt Damon and Tom Holland, with Holland sharing a scene alongside Scott.
Although the clip has not yet been officially released online by Universal, it has already drawn attention due to its brief but revealing glimpse of the film’s tone and cast.
The Odyssey is directed by Christopher Nolan and is scheduled for release in cinemas on July 17. The film is based on Homer’s epic poem, written around the 8th or 7th century BC, which chronicles “the ten-year journey of Odysseus, king of Ithaca, back to his home after the fall of Troy.”
