Daniel Stern, ‘Home Alone’ star caught red handed in prostitution scandal

Stern has not made any public statement about the allegation so far.

Daniel Stern, who is famous for playing Marv in the Home Alone movies, was reportedly cited by police during an alleged prostitution sting in Southern California, according to TMZ.

The report said that on December 10, Stern, who is 68 years old, was cited by police in Ventura County during a sting operation at a hotel in Camarillo. Law enforcement sources told TMZ that he was given a citation for allegedly soliciting prostitution. He was not arrested, taken into custody, or booked.

TMZ noted that the incident happened during the holiday season, when Home Alone is usually watched more by audiences. Stern has not made any public statement about the allegation so far.

A citation is not the same as an arrest, and it is still unclear whether prosecutors will move forward with the case. Authorities have not said if the matter will continue or be dropped, and no court date has been set.

In recent years, Stern has stayed out of the public spotlight. He also did not attend events celebrating the 35th anniversary of Home Alone last month. In an interview with People magazine on December 2, he explained his absence by saying he does not leave his farm.

He added that it was not meant as any disrespect to the movie, saying he is happy to join by phone or Zoom, but prefers staying at home and considers himself a homebody.
