After heavy snow blanketed the Northeast, a new storm system will move across the country bringing snow and rain.

Heavy snow fell from southern Connecticut through the Hudson Valley and parts of upstate New York, with most of Long Island receiving between 3 and 7 inches.

In the New York City area, just over 4 inches of snow accumulated, creating difficult travel conditions through as crews worked to clear the streets.

Central Park recorded 4.3 inches of snow, marking the city’s largest snowfall from a single event since January 2022, when 8.3 inches fell.

The winter storm is starting to ease, but some light snow and wintry mix will remain today along the I-95 corridor, with the possibility of an additional inch of snow and a light glaze of ice across the region.

Next week is expected to begin wet for the East on Monday, with mostly rain along the East Coast and some snow or wintry mix possible in the Great Lakes region.

A new winter storm is forecast to move through the Midwest and Great Lakes from Sunday into Monday. Winter Storm Watches have been issued for Minneapolis, Green Bay, Marquette, and other areas from central Minnesota to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, with heavy snow expected Sunday afternoon into Monday.
