Karachi: Governor Sindh, Kamran Tessori, has strongly condemned recent threats directed at Pakistan’s Field Marshal, describing them as “deeply concerning and unacceptable.”
He alleged that such threats are backed by India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, emphasizing that the UK should also take these matters seriously.
Speaking at a joint press briefing with MQM-Pakistan leaders in Karachi, Kamran Tessori highlighted Pakistan’s strength and international standing, stating, “Our armed forces have demonstrated Pakistan’s might, earning global respect and recognition. The growing demand for Pakistani defense equipment worldwide reflects the country’s strategic capabilities.”
Kamran Tessori also criticized Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), accusing the party of indulging in rhetoric rather than serious politics. “PTI is using the UK as a platform to propagate anti-Pakistan narratives, similar to how Afghan territory has been misused against Pakistan. Investigations are needed against those spreading such propaganda abroad,” he said.
Addressing the Karachi federal package, Kamran Tessori pledged to personally review the obstacles delaying its implementation, stressing the need for transparency and accountability.
He further urged overseas Pakistanis to protect their families from misleading propaganda, noting that PTI’s narrative has already failed.
MQM-Pakistan convener Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui joined Kamran Tessori in condemning PTI’s rhetoric, calling it unprecedented in Pakistani politics. He urged PTI leaders to rise above personal affiliations and act in the national interest.
Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui highlighted financial mismanagement in Karachi, noting that over the past 15 years, Sindh received Rs 22,000 billion, of which Rs 11,000 billion was allocated for Karachi, yet very little was spent on the city’s development. “Karachi contributes 97% of Sindh’s revenue and drives the national economy, yet it continues to suffer neglect,” he remarked.
Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui further emphasized MQM’s ongoing advocacy for missing persons, confirming that significant funds have been allocated for affected families.
He insisted that all missing individuals are innocent and called on the government and judiciary to take urgent and effective measures.
