Alison Arngrim gets honest about negative impact of her ‘House on the Prairie’ character

Alison Arngrim recently got candid and opened up about being hated by the fans of House on the Prairie.
During the Little House on the Prairie Final 50th Anniversary Reunion on Friday, December 12, the 63-year-old American actress and author, who played the role of Nellie Oleson in the American Western historical drama television series, talked about playing the show’s bully in her early years.
Arngrim also reflected on the negative impact the show had on her career and personal life, as Nellie was famous for her mean remarks and mistreating everyone in school, including the Ingalls kids.
She went on to state that her experience with fame was entirely different from others on the show because of her character. Fans used to approach her with anger rather than admiration which her other co-stars used to experience.
The Last Place On Earth star said, “I didn’t have people going, ‘Oh, I have such a crush on you. I love you.’ It was, ‘I hate you. I hate you so much.’”
Arngrim unveiled that “someone threw an orange soda at my face” when she was once walking in a Christmas parade, which made her strongly feel that her character had really “hit some kind of nerve” with viewers.
