Trump’s ‘warrior dividend’: New payment plan for troops unveiled

The Trump administration has launched a “warrior dividend” payment plan for American troops and servicemembers.

Under this plan, the US government will issue $1,776 (£1,329) worth checks to 1.45m US servicemembers ahead of Christmas.

While addressing the nation, Trump said, “1,450,000 military service members will receive a special, we call, warrior dividend before Christmas. A warrior dividend. In honor of our nation’s founding in 1776, we are sending every soldier $1,776.”

“And the checks are already on the way. Nobody deserves it more than our military,” the President added.

According to the administration, the funds would be sourced from the tariffs and legislation “One Big, Beautiful Bill” the President signed into law on Independence day, July 4.

Trump continued, “We made a lot more money than anybody thought because of tariffs, and the bill helped us along. Nobody deserves it more than our military, and I say congratulations to everybody.”

During the televised address, the US President also talked about his administration’s robust efforts to tackle inflation and control the high cost of living.

However, as per September’s economic report, the US inflation rate soared to 3 percent for the very first time since January. Moreover, consumer confidence plummeted to its lowest point since April. The plunge in the nation’s confidence is driven by increasing anxieties related to cost of living and the job market.

The White House administration also hinted at pursuing new housing policies in 2026.
