In a spectacular display of skill and consistency, Karachi’s Mirza Saad Baig has carved his name into Pakistan’s cricketing history by surpassing the 1,000-run mark in the prestigious Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2025.
The left-handed opener, who previously captained Pakistan’s Under-19 squad in the ICC World Cup, dominated the tournament while representing Karachi Blues in 10 matches. Across 19 innings, remaining not out once, Baig compiled 1,000 runs at an exceptional average of 55.55, showcasing his unmatched temperament and technique.

Facing 1,480 deliveries, he struck four centuries and three half-centuries, alongside 135 fours and 13 sixes. Prior to the final against Sialkot at Qaddafi Stadium, he had already accumulated 930 runs in 17 innings over nine matches. Adding 39 and 31 in the final, Baig became only the sixth batsman in the history of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy to achieve this remarkable feat.
