Justin Combs appeals to judge for second chance for Sean Combs during sentencing hearing

Justin Combs urges the court to show mercy to his father, claiming he has changed and deserves a second chance

Justin Combs has asked a federal court to grant his father, Sean “Diddy” Combs, a second chance, claiming the convicted music mogul has changed for the better. During the sentencing hearing on December 3 2025, Justin addressed the judge directly, imploring him to consider Combs’ transformation while serving time.

He said: “I ask that you give my father a second chance, a second chance at life, a second chance to right his wrongs, a second chance to be the man he truly is. I can truly sincerely say he’s changed for the better. Your honour, I believe my father still has so much more to give the world and, more importantly, so much more to give his children.”

In court, Justin described how jail forced his father to quit drugs and alcohol, adding: “My father is my superhero. Seeing him broken down and stripped of everything is something I will never forget.”

Sean Combs was convicted in July 2025 on two counts of violating the Mann Act — transporting individuals across state lines for the purpose of prostitution — following a trial that acquitted him of racketeering conspiracy and sex-trafficking charges.

Prosecutors had argued for a lengthy prison term given the serious nature of the offences, including evidence of coercion and the involvement of drug-fuelled multi-day sexual events called “freak-offs”.

Several of Combs’ children spoke on his behalf during the hearing. Among them, Quincy Brown said the family would support him unconditionally and claimed Combs had “learned a major lesson.”

D’Lila Combs described the fear of their younger sibling growing up without a father present and appealed for the chance to heal together as a family.

As the court weighs sentencing, the judge must now decide whether to grant leniency based on the family’s pleas and Combs’ perceived rehabilitation, or impose the full extent of the penalty for his crimes.
