
When artists, designers, and architects from around the world showcased their magic of light alongside the town’s famous canals, an ordinary night transformed into a dreamy fairytale.
This year, Amsterdam Light Festival not only introduced 20 new installations, but a few artworks were so notable that site visitors were left speechless for moments.
Sculptures are placed along the canals that appear to breathe when illuminated

In a few spots, human-shaped glowing figures change color as visitors walk by, creating the sense that they are silently interacting with passersby.

One artist has created floating illuminated silhouettes that exchange shape with the wind. Tourists sitting in boats stare in amazement, wondering whether what they are seeing is real or just a dream.

Millions of people from around the globe are attending this unique event, which has now become one of Europe’s biggest light festivals.

The ancient canals, which can be listed as a UNESCO global heritage website, appear like a scene straight out of a science fiction film during the festival.
This marvelous celebration of light continues till January 18, in which each night Amsterdam tells a new story through the language of light.
