Callum Turner new favourite to become James Bond?

Callum Turner has emerged as the frontrunner to become the next James Bond, after a long list of contenders.

The British actor, engaged to singer Dua Lipa, is now the bookmakers’ favourite to replace Daniel Craig, who stepped away from the franchise in 2021.

UK-based betting company, Coral, has slashed Turner’s odds to 7-4, with spokesperson John Hill saying the company had been “knocked over with support” for the actor in the past 24 hours.

Turner’s rise pushes previously favoured names such as Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Theo James, James Norton, Martin Compston, Henry Cavill, Anthony Boyle, Harris Dickinson, and Jack Lowden further down the list, though all remain in speculation. Regé-Jean Page has also resurfaced as a possibility after keeping a low profile in recent months.

Director Denis Villeneuve has reportedly narrowed his requirements for the next 007 to three criteria: male, British, and relatively unknown—a profile that aligns closely with Turner’s trajectory.

The future of the Bond franchise has remained unsettled since Amazon MGM Studios assumed control. Still, former 007 Pierce Brosnan recently dismissed any chances of returning, saying the role now “belongs to another man.”

As of now, no one from the production team has publicly confirmed Turner or anyone else as officially signed to play Bond.
