ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif on Wednesday hosted a luncheon in honour of the Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Zimbabwe teams participating in the ongoing Tri-Nation T20I Series, celebrating their role in promoting sportsmanship, diplomacy and international cricket in Pakistan.
Welcoming the squads at the Prime Minister House, Shahbaz Sharif praised the passion, skill and dedication displayed by all three teams, saying their participation reflected strong commitment to the spirit of the game.
The players of Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe are representing their nations in the best possible manner, he said. “Their presence in Pakistan is commendable and a source of pride for cricket lovers across the country.”
The Prime Minister urged the cricketers to set shining examples of sportsmanship, fair play and mutual respect, values he said would “serve as a beacon of inspiration for the younger generation.”
He also lauded the Pakistan Cricket Board, noting that under the leadership of Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, the PCB had ensured “excellent arrangements, effective strategy and high professionalism” in hosting the series.
