Beyonce paid a touching tribute to American musician D’Angelo, honouring his profound impact in the music sphere.

Shortly after the reports emerged that the four time grammy winning singer died at the age of 51 on Tuesday, October 14, the Cowboy Carter hitmaker updated her website, commemorating his extraordinary legacy.

“Rest in peace, Michael Eugene Archer, known to the world of music as the inimitable D’ Angelo,” the message read, accompanied by a black-and-white image of the late musician. “We thank you for your beautiful music , your voice, your proficiency on the piano, your artistry.”

“You were the pioneer of neo-soul and that changed and transformed rhythm & blues forever,” the heartfelt note concluded, “We will never forget you.”

D’Angelo, known for his groundbreaking work in the neo-soul genre, passed away after a private battle with pancreatic cancer.

He was reportedly surrounded by loved ones at the time of his death.

In addition to Beyonce, several other artists and friends from the music industry have also reacted to the tragic loss, including The Alchemist, DJ Premier, and Tyler, the Creator.

D’Angelo, who was launched into the music scene in 1995 with his debut album Brown Sugar has collaborated with legends like Jay-Z, Q-Tip, and Snoop Dogg.

Over the course of his career, spanning three decades, D’Angelo earned four Grammy Awards, including Best R&B Album for both Voodoo (2001) and Black Messiah (2016).
