
KARACHI: Traffic accidents in Karachi have claimed at least 555 lives between January 1 and August 12, 2025, according to police and rescue officials.
According to police and rescue officials, 169 of the fatalities were caused by collisions with heavy vehicles. Among the deceased were 429 men, 53 women, and 73 children.
Officials reported that 34 people were killed in accidents involving dumpers, 63 in collisions with trailers, 37 due to water tanker crashes, and 35 in bus-related accidents.
According to police, 8,338 people have been injured in various accidents so far this year in Karachi, of which the number of men is 6,528, 1267 women and 543 children.
It is worth mentioning that just yesterday, a young motorcyclist was killed after being hit by a trailer, while a few days earlier, a brother and sister lost their lives and their father was injured when a dumper collided with their motorcycle on Rashid Minhas Road.
