The 25-year-old batsman was in phenomenal form, dominating England’s bowling attack with an outstanding display of batting. Throughout the three-match Test series in July, Gill scored an incredible 567 runs at a remarkable average of 94.50.
His prolific run-scoring included a stunning double century and two centuries, solidifying his reputation as one of the most promising talents in international cricket. His previous wins for the Player of the Month award came in February 2025, January 2023, and September 2023, showcasing his consistent performance across various formats over the past few years.
Shubman Gill began his international career with an ODI debut in January 2019, followed by his Test debut in December 2020. Since then, he has played 37 Tests, 55 ODIs, and 21 T20Is for India. While the win-loss records are for the entire team rather than an individual player, Gill has been a key contributor to many of India’s victories.
His career highlights include a crucial role in India’s historic Test series victory in Australia in 2021 and becoming the youngest player to score an ODI double-century in 2023.
Following the announcement, Gill expressed his gratitude, stating, “It’s a great honor to win this award. Scoring runs and contributing to the team’s success is what I strive for. This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the entire squad and the support of the coaching staff.”
This historic fourth award further cements Shubman Gill’s place among the elite in world cricket. His recent form and leadership have been vital for India, and with his record-breaking achievements at such a young age, he is poised to lead the team to even greater heights in the future.
