Prime Minister expresses satisfaction over “Gallup Business Confidence Index Report”

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed satisfaction over Gallup Pakistan’s latest Business Confidence Index, calling it a positive sign of economic stability.

The survey shows that business confidence in Pakistan has reached its highest level in four years. Compared to the last quarter of 2024, the country’s economic direction score has improved to -2 — the best result since the fourth quarter of 2021.

The Prime Minister said these results reflect growing stability in Pakistan’s political and economic situation. He credited this improvement to the government’s economic reforms, institutional improvements, and transparency.

He highlighted key measures, including the digitalization of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), energy sector reforms, and steps to make doing business easier. These initiatives, he said, have opened new opportunities for trade and investment.

PM Shehbaz pointed out that improving economic indicators, better credit ratings from international financial institutions, and a decline in corruption all signal the success of government policies. He added that the benefits of macroeconomic reforms are now beginning to reach ordinary citizens, and the government remains committed to improving institutional performance.

He praised Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb and his economic team for their work, noting that the Pakistan Stock Exchange’s 100 Index recently crossed a historic 147,000 points, reflecting investor confidence.

The Prime Minister assured that the government is taking strong measures to support the business community and is expanding consultations with the private sector to ensure sustainable growth.
