defeat Pakistan by five wickets

In the second ODI of the three-match series, West Indies secured a comfortable five-wicket victory over Pakistan, leveling the series 1-1. Chasing a modest target of 181 in a rain-shortened match, the Caribbean side reached the mark with five wickets in hand.

Roston Chase (49) and Sherfane Rutherford (45) played crucial roles in guiding the West Indies to victory after early breakthroughs by the Pakistani bowlers. Pakistan’s Hasan Ali and Mohammad Nawaz claimed two wickets each, but it wasn’t enough to halt the chase.

Earlier, Pakistan posted 181 runs, with key contributions coming from Hasan Nawaz (36), Hussain Talat (31), Abdullah Shafique (26), and Saim Ayub (23). The West Indies bowling attack remained disciplined, with Jayden Seales leading the charge — taking 3 wickets for just 23 runs in his 7 overs. Roston Chase, Shamar Joseph, Gudakesh Motie, and Blades chipped in with a wicket apiece.

The series is now evenly poised at 1-1, setting up an exciting decider on Tuesday at the same stadium.

West Indies earlier chose to bowl first and Hasan Nawaz again played a key role for Pakistan with 36 not out off 30 deliveries, after his unbeaten 63 in the ODI opener.

Pakistan beat West Indies in the first one-day international on Friday, also by five wickets.
