Two terrorists killed during exchange of fire with CTD

MIANWALI: Two dangerous terrorists were killed while six others managed to escape during a fierce exchange of fire between the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and militants in Kundian area of Mianwali.

According to details, the CTD conducted an intelligence-based operation after receiving information about the presence of terrorists. During the raid, the terrorists opened fire on the CTD team, triggering a gun battle.

A CTD spokesperson confirmed the incident, stating that while two terrorists were neutralized, six others escaped under the cover of darkness.

The spokesman said that rifles, 2 hand grenades, bullets and ammunition were recovered from the terrorists, a search operation is underway to arrest the escaped terrorists.

The CTD spokesperson further stated that CTD teams set up a blockade near Kundian, following the operation.

He added that the terrorists had finalized plans to carry out attacks on police and other law enforcement agencies.

Earlier,  A Frontier Corps (FC) soldier was martyred and three others were injured in a drone attack on an FC checkpost in Bannu.

According to Bannu’s District Police Officer (DPO) Saleem Abbas Kulachi, a quadcopter drone targeted the FC checkpost in the Takhti Khel area of Bakka Khel. The attack resulted in the martyrdom of one FC personnel and injuries to three others.

DPO Saleem Abbas Kulachi said the injured personnel have been shifted to the hospital.
