Netanyahu confirms Israel helped India in “Operation Sandoor”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has confirmed that India received full military support from Israel during “Operation Sandoor” in May. He revealed this in a post on his official X (formerly Twitter) account after meeting with Indian Ambassador JP Singh in Jerusalem.

During the meeting, the two discussed ways to further strengthen security and economic cooperation between the two countries. Later, Netanyahu also met with a group of Indian journalists and answered their questions.

He confirmed that India had used Israeli-made HARPY drones and Barak-8 missile systems during the operation. Netanyahu proudly stated that the weapons previously provided to India were “highly effective” on the battlefield.

“Our weapons are tested in real combat, and they prove to be effective,” he added.

India and Israel have a long-standing defense partnership. In the past decade, India has purchased over $2.9 billion worth of military equipment from Israel, including advanced radars, surveillance drones, and missile systems.

This public acknowledgment of Israel’s direct military involvement further highlights the growing defense ties between the two nations.
