Sindh Government extend Ajrak number plate deadline to October 31 on Bilawal’s instructions
KARACHI – The Sindh government has officially extended the deadline for installing the new high-security vehicle number plates across the province. Initially set for August 14, the new deadline is now October 31, 2025.
The extension came after Sindh Excise, Taxation, and Narcotics Minister Mukesh Kumar Chawla briefed PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on the progress. Bilawal, keeping public convenience in mind, directed authorities to allow more time for citizens to comply.
During the briefing, Chawla highlighted that these new number plates are part of the Sindh Safe City Project and are designed to improve vehicle security and tracking.
He also informed Bilawal that the Narcotics Department has recently seized illegal drugs worth Rs 7 billion, marking a record achievement for the department.
Additionally, Chawla updated the PPP Chairman on the attendance and active participation of party members in the Sindh Assembly legislative sessions.
This move aims to make the transition to secure number plates smoother and more accessible for all vehicle owners in Sindh.
