
Islamabad: A new chapter in Pakistan’s music history has begun, marking the end of a decade-long wait. The iconic music competition, “Pakistan Idol,” has officially returned after 10 years.
A new era for musical talent has officially begun in Pakistan with the launch of the iconic music competition, “Pakistan Idol.” The show is set to make a grand return with a power-packed jury of legendary artists, including Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Fawad Khan, Zeb Bangash, and Bilal Maqsood.
The first season of the show, titled “Pakistan Idol: Jo Hai Dil Ki Awaz,” originally premiered on December 6, 2013, and concluded on April 24, 2014. That season’s judges were Bushra Ansari, Hadiqa Kiani, and Ali Azmat. The new panel brings a fresh mix of musical legends and contemporary stars to the show.
Produced under license from the global company Fremantle and presented in Pakistan by MHL Global, the show aims to provide a world-class platform for aspiring singers from across the nation.
According to Zoya Merchant, “Our partnership with Fremantle for ‘Pakistan Idol’ is a major step for Pakistan’s creative and entertainment industries.
It is not just the start of an entertainment show, but a cultural movement.” She added that the platform is dedicated to showcasing Pakistan’s immense musical talent both nationally and globally.
The show’s production will adhere to international standards, featuring live performances, themed competitions, and a digital-first strategy.
Contestants will have the opportunity to perform on national television, receive top-tier training, and have their fate decided by audience votes. The jury members will not only guide the participants but also create memorable moments for viewers each week.
Online auditions are set to begin today on the official Begin platform. In-person auditions in major cities and remote areas will be held later this month, ensuring an equal opportunity for talented individuals from every part of the country
