CM Gandapur pays tribute to young organ donor Jawad Khan

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur, has announced that a road and a local hospital will be named in honor of 14-year-old Jawad Khan, who tragically lost his life in a road accident. His legacy lives on through the donation of his organs, which saved multiple lives.

In an extraordinary act of compassion, Jawad’s family from Mardan donated his organs—including his liver, kidneys, and corneas. The transplants were successfully performed on five patients, turning their personal tragedy into a beacon of hope for others.

A special ceremony was held at the Chief Minister’s House to recognize the family’s remarkable gesture. In a moving tribute, the chairperson’s seat was respectfully given to Jawad’s father. The Chief Minister praised the family’s decision as a shining example of humanity and selflessness.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur praised the family’s noble act, stating that such selfless contributions inspire others to engage in humanitarian efforts.

He announced several initiatives to pay tribute to Jawad’s legacy, including the construction of a road in his village, renaming of a local hospital after him, inclusion of his story in the academic curriculum, and sponsoring his family to perform Umrah.

Jawad’s organs—including his liver, kidneys, and corneal tissues—were successfully transplanted into five patients, setting a remarkable example of generosity and humanity.
