
PDMA Punjab issues alert for fourth spell of monsoon rains
LAHORE – July 18, 2025: The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab has issued an alert ahead of the fourth spell of monsoon rains, expected to hit the province between July 20 and July 25.
According to the PDMA, heavy rain and thunderstorms are likely in several districts, including Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Attock, Chakwal, and Mandi Bahauddin. Rain accompanied by strong winds is also forecast for Hafizabad, Gujrat, Jhelum, and Gujranwala.
Other cities such as Lahore, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Narowal, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Sargodha, and Mianwali are also expected to receive rainfall during this period.
Separately, areas in southern Punjab, including Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Bahawalpur, and Bahawalnagar, may experience rain from July 18 to July 23.
Following instructions from the Punjab Chief Minister, PDMA has issued alerts to all district administrations, as well as departments including Health, Irrigation, Communication and Works, Local Government, and Livestock to ensure preparedness.
PDMA Director General urged citizens to stay indoors during windstorms and avoid unnecessary travel during bad weather. He also advised the public to seek shelter and remain in safe places to avoid lightning strikes.
