
257 lives lost in six months
Balochistan: The Balochistan Home Department has released statistics on terrorist incidents in the province from January 1 to June 30.
According to the semi-annual data, there has been a significant surge in terrorist incidents in Balochistan, with a 45% increase in overall terrorism and a 100% increase in target killings of settlers.
The report states that during the first six months of this year, 501 terrorist incidents took place, resulting in the deaths of 257 people, including 133 security personnel, while 492 others, including 238 personnel, were injured.
According to the report, 14 attacks were carried out on non-local individuals, in which 52 people lost their lives and 11 were injured. A total of 81 incidents involving bomb blasts, hand grenades, IEDs, landmine explosions, and rocket fire occurred, resulting in 26 deaths and 112 injuries.
In the past six months, 39 attacks were carried out on ordinary citizens, leaving 11 dead and 29 injured. During the same period, two attacks on trains led to the deaths of 29 individuals.
Additionally, one polio worker was killed in an attack on polio teams, while nine attacks on mobile phone towers resulted in two injuries.
