
TEXAS: The U.S. state of Texas has once again been gripped by a natural disaster, as torrential rains and sudden, catastrophic flooding wreaked havoc across the state.
According to international media reports, the deadly weather has resulted in the deaths of at least 82 people, including 28 children, in various rain and flood-related incidents. Emergency services continue to carry out rescue and relief operations in the affected areas.
The foreign news agency says that due to torrential rains and floods in different areas of Texas, houses, vehicles were submerged in several feet of water, roads were closed due to falling trees, while emergency response teams are using helicopters to airlift people trapped by rising floodwaters.
According to reports, 41 people, including 10 girls and a councilor in the Summer camp, are still missing, which is under investigation, helicopters, boats and drones are being used to search for missing persons.
Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump has officially declared Kerr County in Texas a disaster area in response to the severe flooding.
The declaration aims to expedite federal assistance and mobilize resources for rescue, relief, and recovery efforts in the flood-stricken region.
