
Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have expressed profound respect for the ultimate sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions.
President Asif Ali Zardri:
President Asif Ali Zardari has stated that the Day of Ashura conveys the message of sacrifice, truthfulness, and unwavering resolve.
In his message on the occasion of Ashura, President Zardari said that this day reminds us of the great martyrdom of Prophet Muhammad’s grandson, Imam Hussain (peace be upon him), and his loyal companions.
The President emphasized that the incident of Karbala symbolizes an eternal struggle against falsehood. Imam Hussain’s martyrdom was a divine mission founded on truth, justice, and the pleasure of Allah.
He added that Karbala was a test of conscience, character, and the true spirit of religion. Imam Hussain’s (peace be upon him) great message is to stand firm on principles and not bow before tyranny and oppression.
President Zardari asserted that in the context of the challenges facing the country today, the nation needs to embody the character of Hussain (peace be upon him). We must pledge to make Pakistan a reflection of Imam Hussain’s message of liberty and justice.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif:
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also stated that the incident of Karbala teaches us that the path of truth may be difficult but ultimately leads to everlasting prosperity. If we follow the light of Karbala, Pakistan can become a prosperous and self-respecting state.
In his message on Ashura, the Prime Minister said that Ashura inspires us with patience, sacrifice, and steadfastness on principles. The Battle of Karbala was not an ordinary confrontation but an everlasting message for all of mankind.
He added that Imam Hussain (peace be upon him), along with his family and companions, sacrificed their lives for truth and the elevation of faith. The message of Imam Hussain is not limited to his time but is a universal message.
The Prime Minister emphasized that we must incorporate honesty, tolerance, patience, sacrifice, and principled behavior into our national life.
