Fahad Mustafa says popular game show become source of joy for dementia patients

KARACHI: Renowned actor, television host, and producer Fahad Mustafa has revealed that his popular game show has become a source of joy and recognition not only for people of all ages but also for individuals suffering from mental health conditions.

In a heartfelt statement, Fahad shared the emotional story of an 80-year-old woman battling dementia — a degenerative brain disorder that has left her unable to recognize her close family members, including her children and husband. Remarkably, she is still able to recognize Jeeto Pakistan.

Calling it an “incredible and emotional moment,” Fahad said this story is a testament to the show’s deep impact, transcending entertainment and becoming a meaningful connection for viewers facing serious health challenges.

Mustafa noted that this isn’t an isolated incident, as many viewers with cognitive challenges find happiness and a sense of connection through “Jeeto Pakistan.” He expressed his ongoing efforts to comprehend the unique essence of his program that attracts and resonates so deeply across all segments of society. This widespread appeal, he suggests, goes beyond mere entertainment, tapping into something more fundamental for its diverse audience.

Beyond the show’s impact, Mustafa also addressed the prevalent discussion around compensation in the entertainment industry. He firmly stated that contrary to popular belief there is no gender-based pay gap. He pointed out that leading actresses like Mahira Khan, Ayeza Khan, and Hania Aamir often receive equal and sometimes even higher remuneration than their male counterparts. As a producer Fahad Mustafa affirmed that his compensation decisions are solely based on talent and market value, not gender.

Mustafa reiterated that “Jeeto Pakistan” stands as one of Pakistan’s most-watched shows attributing its significant success directly to the overwhelming love and support from the public. This consistent public engagement and affection, he believes, are the true foundations of the program’s enduring popularity and its remarkable ability to connect with a broad and varied audience.
