Former AJK Prime Minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas joins PPP

ISLAMABAD: Former Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Sardar Tanveer Ilyas, has officially joined the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).

The announcement came following a meeting with PPP Women’s Wing President Faryal Talpur. The meeting was also attended by Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan, Senator Saleem Mandviwalla, Zia Lanjhar, and other senior party leaders.

According to a Spokesperson for Zardari House, along with Sardar Tanveer Ilyas, politicians Ali Shan Soni and Ahmed Saghir also announced their decision to join the PPP.

This development marks a significant political shift and is seen as part of the PPP’s broader strategy to strengthen its presence in Azad Kashmir and beyond.

Former Prime Minister Azad Kashmir Sardar Tanveer Ilyas said that the efforts of the PPP for Kashmir cause are unprecedented.

On this occasion, Faryal Talpur welcomed those who joined the PPP.

Faryal Talpur said that “if Bilawal Bhutto Zardari becomes the Prime Minister, there will be an unprecedented development of Azad Kashmir”.
