
LAHORE: West Zone Whites defeated East Zone Blues on a first-innings lead to secure 3 valuable points in the second round of the Senior Inter-District Cricket Tournament.
In the match played at Shah Faisal Ground, West Zone Whites posted 315 for 5 in their first innings. Mohib Bhatti was the top scorer with 133 runs, supported by Mohammad Talha’s 75 and an unbeaten 36 from Hassan Rizwan. Zahid Khan picked up 3 wickets for East Zone Blues.
In response, East Zone Blues scored 306 for 5 in their first innings, with Sufyan Ali making 65 and Mohammad Azeem 46. Ali Anar and Saad bin Athar each claimed 2 wickets. After gaining a slender 9-run first-innings lead, West Zone Whites declared their second innings at 385 for 5. West Zone Whites’ captain, Hassan Rizwan, led from the front with a magnificent unbeaten 203 runs off 154 balls. Hamza Akbar and Mohib Bhatti also contributed with half-centuries.
