
Two policemen martyred in Swabi firing incident
PESHAWAR: At least two police personnel were martyred after unidentified assailants on a motorcycle opened fire in the Gadoon area of Swabi district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to police officials, the incident took place within the jurisdiction of the IDS Gadoon Police Station, where the officers were dining at a local hotel when they were ambushed.
Two unidentified gunmen reportedly entered the hotel on a motorcycle and opened fire at the personnel, resulting in the martyrdom of Constables Jamaluddin and Zahid.
The bodies of the martyred personnel were shifted to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital.
The law enforcement agencies have launched an investigation and a search operation is underway to trace the attackers.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has strongly condemned the attack on police personnel in Swabi and expressed deep sorrow and grief over the martyrdom of the officers.
The Prime Minister paid tribute to the martyred policemen, honoring their ultimate sacrifice, and prayed for patience and strength for their families.
He directed authorities to conduct a thorough investigation, identify those responsible, and ensure they are brought to justice.
Reaffirming the government’s resolve, the Prime Minister stated, “We will continue our war against terrorism until this menace is completely eradicated from the country.”
He praised the tireless efforts of police officers and personnel who are working day and night to rid Pakistan of terrorism and safeguard the nation.
