Trump questions Israel’s ability to fight against Iran, wanted to talks with Tehran
Washington: Former U.S. President Donald Trump has said that Israel cannot take on Iran alone and suggested that the U.S. should talk to Iran and “see what happens.” He added that Iran wants to engage in talks with the United States, not with European countries.
Speaking to the media, Trump said he couldn’t comment on possible attacks on Iran yet. He emphasized that the U.S. is closely monitoring the ongoing Israel-Iran conflict and will make decisions based on how the situation develops.
“I want a ceasefire before any negotiations,” Trump stated, highlighting the importance of halting hostilities before beginning discussions.
Trump also pointed out that Israel alone cannot stop Iran’s nuclear ambitions. “They can’t handle it by themselves,” he added.
Recalling past decisions, Trump mentioned that during his term he had said, “If you go to war, keep the oil,” but others did not follow that advice. He claimed Iran was close to becoming a nuclear power and had already gathered the necessary material.
Trump criticized Iran for being dishonest about its nuclear capabilities and warned that if American assets were attacked, the attackers would face severe consequences.
He also expressed frustration over not receiving a Nobel Peace Prize, saying, “Only liberals get the Nobel. If I were to get it, I would have received it by now.”
