Pre-monsoon rains predicted from tomorrow in Sindh, Karachi

The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast pre-monsoon rains in several Sindh districts from June 22 to 24, as moist winds and a westerly wave enter the region.

According to officials, moist currents from the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal are penetrating upper and central Pakistan, while a westerly system is likely to approach by June 20.

A weather system is expected to bring dust storms, rain, wind, and thunderstorms to Karachi, Sukkur, Larkana, Dadu, and Jacobabad over the next three days.

The Meteorological Department has alerted all Deputy Commissioners, District Disaster Management Authorities (DDMAs), and concerned departments to take preventive and safety measures before the rain begins.

There may be damage to weak structures like trees, vehicles, electric poles, and solar panels due to strong winds or lightning in the affected areas.

Experts say that the ongoing extreme heat in the upper and central regions of the country will begin to ease during this rainy period.
