Fati Vázquez, a 30-year-old Galician influencer, has become the centre of social media controversy after she was spotted on vacation with 17-year-old FC Barcelona player Lamine Yamal. Despite both denying a romantic relationship, online speculation escalated rapidly.
Photos posted by Yamal from a luxury break in Italy showed scenic backdrops, helicopters and a private villa. Shortly after, Vázquez uploaded images from what appeared to be the same locations, triggering rumours across platforms like Instagram and X. In one picture, the two were seen riding a jet ski together.
Journalist Javi de Hoyos later reported that Yamal denied any connection beyond friendship, stating “there is no relationship.” He also noted that other people were present on the trip, and Vázquez may have travelled with someone else.
The attention has resulted in harassment, with Vázquez revealing she has received disturbing messages, including death threats. Responding on social media, she wrote: “It’s sad to see how some people carry so much darkness inside that they get to wish death on someone they don’t even know.”
Originally from Galicia, Spain, Vázquez is a former flight attendant who pivoted her career to become a lifestyle creator and has spoken publicly about overcoming bullying in her youth. She has published a book about her personal challenges and regularly posts motivational content.
