Selma Blair arraigned over alleged Delta flight incident as bail set at $20,000

Authorities responded to the incident at John F. Kennedy International Airport on Sunday after Delta flight 938 landed

Actress Selma Blair was arraigned in New York on Monday evening following an alleged altercation aboard a Delta flight from Los Angeles to New York City, with bail set at $20,000 cash, according to ABC News.

The 54-year-old actress faces two counts of second-degree assault under New York law.

The criminal complaint also alleges separate incidents involving a Port Authority police officer and a registered nurse.

Authorities responded to the incident at John F. Kennedy International Airport on Sunday after Delta flight 938 arrived.

According to the complaint, two flight attendants sustained injuries, while Port Authority officer Maria Suarez allegedly suffered facial, neck and chest injuries during Blair’s transport to an ambulance.

A nurse later reported chest pain following an alleged incident during Blair’s medical treatment at Jamaica Hospital.

Blair’s representative told ABC News, “Selma experienced a medical emergency that led to the alleged conduct. Upon landing, she received immediate medical attention and is currently in stable condition.”

Delta confirmed that law enforcement met the aircraft upon arrival and said, “Delta has zero tolerance for unruly or unlawful behavior, as the safety of our customers and crew always comes first.”

The FBI and Federal Aviation Administration are investigating the incident. Blair’s next court appearance on the assault charges is scheduled for January 19, 2027.

She has also reportedly received a federal violation notice relating to alleged assaults within US jurisdiction.

The incident recalls a 2016 flight episode for which Blair later apologised, explaining that mixing alcohol with medication had caused her to black out.

She was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2018 and announced in 2021 that her condition was in remission.

The allegations have not been established in court.
