It seems like Stephen Colbert has fully embraced his life without his late night TV show, as he looked more “happier” and “healthier” after The Late Show cancellation.

Fresh off his Emmy win for outstanding variety series, the 62-year-old host appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Tuesday night. and

During the converstion with Jimmy, Stephen was clear about his comeback to late night television.

“Late night TV. I remember it well. Many fond memories of this,” Stephen said when appeared on the stage.

When Kimmel asked “Do you ever think about it?” Colbert bluntly replied, “Nope!”

The three-time Emmy winner went on to say that he does not “think about the news every day.”

Kimmel then commented that Stephen looked “a different person,” a much “happier” and “healthier” during the 2026 Emmys Monday night.

“Like I don’t drink a cup of poison every day?” Stephen quipped.

He then jokingly added, “A good part of the job is, as I remember it, to be lowered like carbon rods into a radioactive pool every day. 

“And then to be pulled out and put in front of a camera. And to radiate it back at the audience at a nonlethal rad level.”

For those unaware, Stephen Colbert’s The Late Show ended its run on CBS in May.
