LONDON: The Pakistan Cricket Board(PCB) has decided to remove Test head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed and bowling coach Umar Gul from their positions following the national team’s poor performance, according to sources.

Sarfaraz and Gul will remain with the team for the third Test but are expected to be relieved of their responsibilities upon their return to Pakistan.
According to sources, Mike Hesson will serve as head of the coaching staff during the Birmingham Test.
Hesson is also expected to take charge as Pakistan’s Test head coach for the upcoming home series against Sri Lanka and New Zealand.
Sources said Pakistan has also decided to release Salman Ali Agha before the third Test.
Salman will return to Pakistan along with wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan and opener Imam-ul-Haq, according to the sources.
The coaching changes come after Pakistan’s disappointing Test performances, prompting the PCB to make significant changes to the team’s support staff.

Earlier, England defeated Pakistan by 194 runs in the second Test at Lord’s on Sunday to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.
Chasing a huge target of 389 runs, Pakistan were bowled out for 194 despite a brilliant 97 from Saud Shakeel. Opener Imam-ul-Haq did not bat in the second innings because of an injury.
Pakistan had a poor start to their chase. Opening batter Azan Awais was dismissed on the third ball of the fifth over when Ollie Robinson trapped him leg before wicket for six off 14 balls, including one boundary.
