Ross Harris recently reflected on the sudden death of his superstar cousin Liam Payne.
For those unaware, Payne passed away unexpectedly at the age of 31 after falling from a third-floor hotel balcony at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on October 16, 2024. According to his autopsy and toxicology report, his death occurred due to multiple traumatic injuries and internal bleeding from the fall.
Harris appeared on the recent episode of Good Morning Britain, where he claimed that the former One Direction member “didn’t feel very loved, which is ironic for a superstar because he has a million people plus who love him.”
“But they loved Liam Payne. He needed someone to love Liam,” he added, highlighting what the late singer and songwriter craved in his life.
The Night Changes hitmaker’s cousin went on to reveal that he received a call from him a few hours before his death, but he could not answer it.
Harris said, “I think my phone must have been face down and we were recording, and yeah, just completely missed it.”
“And then I think I probably saw it maybe an hour or two later. I was like, ‘oh, I’ll call him back when we’re done.’ And then I tried to call, but I think he was already gone by that point,” he shared.
It is pertinent to mention that Liam Payne started his music career at the age of just 16 when he participated in The X Factor and then joined the famous boyband One Direction.
