Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah on Monday met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and discussed political matters, agreeing to maintain political harmony and consultation, according to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).
The statement stated that CM Shah called on PM Shehbaz and discussed with him matters related to politics, Sindh province and the ongoing development projects in the province.
The meeting was attended by federal ministers Muhammad Aurangzeb, Azam Nazeer Tarar, Ahad Khan Cheema, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, and Ali Pervaiz Malik, and Adviser to the Prime Minister Rana Sanaullah.
Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) have been supporting the PML-N-led government since general elections were held in February 2024, but in recent days both parties have expressed displeasure over several matters and engaged in verbal spats.
Last week, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari warned that the party would withdraw its support for the PML-N-led government until its concerns over the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) elections were addressed. He also ruled out support for the government’s proposed legislation in the Senate and National Assembly (NA), saying no party member would vote on bills until the PPP’s unresolved grievances were addressed.

Bilawal also met with the Leader of the Opposition in the NA, Mahmood Khan Achakzai, and Senate Opposition Leader Allama Raja Nasir Abbas in the opposition chamber of the NA.
PPP also accused the PML-N of widespread electoral rigging in the AJK and announced that the party would approach the courts seeking investigations into the alleged irregularities. However, PML-N dismissed the PPP allegations of irregularities as “baseless”, saying the election results reflected the confidence reposed in the PML-N by the people.
