Virginia State University shooting: Multiple people shot, campus on lockdown Virginia State University has been rocked with a mass shooting that left several people wounded and the campus on lockdown. The incident occurred on Saturday morning at approximately 1:30 am near the Quad Annexes on the Chesterfield County campus of the university. Several gunmen are believed to have opened fire, according to the Chesterfield County Police Department and local reports from WTVR. Multiple individuals sustained gunshot wounds, though none of the injuries appear to be life-threatening.Virginia State University is a public HBCU just south of the Virginia state capital of Richmond.
