Peshawar High Court Bar honors senior lawyers with Lifetime Achievement Awards

PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court Bar Association held a Lifetime Achievement Awards ceremony attended by retired Justice Musarrat Hilali as the chief guest, along with former governor Masood Kausar and a large number of senior lawyers.

Speaking at the ceremony, Hilali said lawyers had always been her source of strength and had supported her throughout her career. “My strength is the lawyers. They have always supported me,” Hilali said.

She thanked the bar association for standing by her and said she was grateful for its continued support. Hilali said she had always supported competent and principled lawyers in bar politics. “I do not care about social media campaigns. I have always been proud of my decisions,” she said.

She added that she had never made decisions against any individual and had no personal hostility toward anyone. Former governor Masood Kausar, also a senior lawyer, said the legal profession was an important and respected field. He stressed that lawyers must perform their duties with honesty and integrity.

“The legal profession is very important, and it must be practiced with honesty,” Kausar said. He criticized the current state of several state institutions, saying Parliament, the judiciary and the Election Commission had become ineffective.

Kausar said the legal profession had produced some of the country’s finest lawyers. He also said he strongly opposed political interference and favoritism within the judiciary. He described retired Justice Musarrat Hilali as a brave woman and praised her contributions to the legal profession and judiciary.

Peshawar High Court Bar Association President Amin-ur-Rehman Yousafzai welcomed Hilali to the ceremony and praised her services to the judiciary. Yousafzai said Hilali had performed her judicial responsibilities with dedication and professionalism.

He also praised her role in bar politics and said she had made valuable contributions to the lawyers’ community. According to Yousafzai, Hilali played a leading role in the movement for the restoration of the judiciary.

At the end of the ceremony, Lifetime Achievement Awards were presented to several senior lawyers in recognition of their services to the legal profession. Hilali was also given the honorary title of “Titanium Woman” during the ceremony in recognition of her courage and professional contributions.
